Working Principle
At the initial start, it is low pressure mercury vapor and argon gas discharge, radiation with blue glow, at this time the lamp voltage is low, discharge current is large, with the heat generated by the discharge tube mercury vapor voltage boost, the arc begins to shrink and generate ionization excitation, forming the collision between electrons, atoms and ions in the discharge tube and emit light. The resonant line with the wavelength of 253.7nm was absorbed during discharge. With the further increase of mercury vapor in the lamp, the intensity of the visible line gradually increased, and the main radiation was the visible line of 404.7nm, 435.8nm, 546.1nm and 577.0-579.0nm. The high pressure mercury lamp takes 4-10min from starting to normal operation.
